Powerful, Controversial, Sexual and Scandalous… a billboard being erected on Sunset Boulevard at Stanley on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 7am may grab the attention of the thousands of neighbors and passing commuters, but does using sexy girls and bondage as tools to bring attention to the plight of abused and abandoned animals hinder or help nonprofits?
Bound Angels is a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency with a unique approach toward the rescue and rehabilitation of abused, neglected, and abandoned animals. Photographer ROBERTO CABRAL’s provocative and compelling photographs depicting his correlation between bondage of animals and bondage of women, has caused many to lose sight of the tremendous work he does on behalf of animals. BOUND ANGELS makes it ‘cool and sexy’ to care about, and advocate on behalf of, the rights of animals unable to fight for themselves.
Using contemporary media as a forum, BOUND ANGELS educates individuals, our communities, and society about the critical need for responsible stewardship of animals as pets and companions. You can learn more about BOUND ANGELS' at www.BoundAngels.org, or check them out on YouTube at www.youtube.com/BoundAngels

If animals living in our nations shelter system need a voice, they’ve found it in photographer and Bound Angels founder Robert Cabral. His provocative billboard launched on the Sunset Strip at 7AM this morning delivers a compelling message. The billboard’s bold colors and even bolder message will inspire some and incite others. The provocative message “Cage the Babe - Free the Dog” featuring a beautiful latex clothed sex pot caged while a dog looks on, dominates the Sunset Strip in Hollywood. The 48’ billboard launched today is part of Bound Angels’ plan to “give a voice to animals.” When asked about the billboard, Cabral stated, “Some messages require a tap on the shoulder while others require a kick to the groin.” Cage the Babe is certainly that. Beautifully photographed, yet guerilla in its approach, its a strong message that makes passersby look on and take notice.
When asked about his goal, Cabral says “We need to take notice that animals are our responsibility, and so often we let them down. We dump them in shelters when they become inconvenient. The shelter system is overburdened and 5-6 million animals are killed in our shelters every year. “ Bound Angels’ video campaigns focus on making shelters the first place people should visit to get their new pets. The Shelter Video Program has proven an overwhelming success in getting animals adopted and in getting people to visit the shelters.
Is it right to use sexuality to save animals’ lives? Cabral’s makes no apologies and answers a a definitive YES. “Some people may say that this campaign objectifies women, but its quite the contrary, this campaign uses a woman’s sexuality, strength and power to benefit a helpless creature. What could be more noble than that? “
