Bound Angels provides a service to shelters, humane societies and rescue organizations that no one else does. We have proven, logical solutions and life saving tools that save the lives of shelter pets. Our programs are available free of charge to shelters and humane organizations throughout the U.S. These programs range from online training, books, educational and dissemination campaigns, as well as hands-on canine behavior training and behavior assessments. All of our programs have been tested and proven successful in large city shelter systems as well as small humane societies.
Our edgy, and sometimes controversial, campaigns speak for the animals who do not have a voice of their own. Working hand in hand with shelter employees, management, volunteers and rescue organizations gives us a unique insight into the solutions and their implementation. We provide hands-on guidance in marketing shelter adoption programs as well as canine behavior training. All of these programs are provided free of charge to animal rescue organizations and shelters.

The Shelter Angel Video Program, which has proven a 100% success rate in adopting dogs and cats from municipal shelters through creative YouTube animal music videos. This revolutionary approach to marketing shelter pets started at one LA City shelter and soon spread to other LA City shelters and beyond. The catchy videos marketing these pets can now be seen on Facebook and YouTube among other viral outlets.
Shelter Rescue, part of the Selling Used Dogs program (see below). Shelter Rescue is a two-day intensive workshop provided by Bound Angels to municipal shelters and humane societies that teaches intensive canine behavioral skills. Temperament testing redefined, handling animals with issues including fear, dominance, aggression, and more are all included in this hands-on workshop specifically tailored for shelter employees and volunteers. There is no other local or national organization offering workshops of this type to shelters. The classes include lecture, Q&A, and interactive demonstration. The goal of this program is to help shelter workers better understand canine behavior and solve problems before they begin, and solve them quickly if they arise or are present. This program has been shown to increase employee and volunteer morale while lowering the risk of liability arising from careless mistakes. Selling Used Dogs, a book available as a free download to all rescue workers, shelters and humane organizations teaching life saving skills including marketing, rehabilitation, and social networking. All of the programs in the Selling Used Dogs book have been tested and proven through Bound Angels in large metropolitan shelters as well as smaller rural shelters. Desperate Dogs Determined Measures, the long waited book by Robert Cabral, founder of Bound Angels. The demand for Robert’s workshops has grown to a point where he can’t get to everyone who needs him, so in an effort to help more and more dogs he has put his system of canine rehabilitation into a book which was called a bible for shelter workers. The book is available through book outlets including Barnes and Noble and Amazon and is filled with over 200 pages of life-saving skills.
Desperate Dogs Yahoo Group. In an effort to reach shelter management and shelter behaviorists, Bound Angels has formed a private group designed to interact with staff facing difficult behavioral problems and find real solutions. Since behavioral problems are often a death sentence for dogs living in shelters, this group will open the dialog of solutions and save more lives through information. Over the past several years Bound Angels has spearheaded a new approach toward marketing dogs doomed in shelters, fought court battles for dogs sentenced to death, created educational programs for shelter workers and volunteers and created media campaigns to bring attention to our shelter crisis.
Each year millions of shelter animals are murdered due to a broken shelter system. Ironically called “shelters,” they are holding areas for animals to be killed. Animals that once were family pets now imprisoned for a crime they did not commit. These animals are deprived human interaction, and at their greatest hope have a 45% chance at adoption. The end to the cycle for these animals is inevitable death.
Our mission at Bound Angels is to bring animal suffering to the forefront and encourage people to care for their animals, adopt shelter animals, and spay & neuter their pets. Bound Angels strives to change the public policy on “kill shelters,” expose animals’ suffering, and fight for the rights of those that cannot fight for themselves.
